Bio

In today’s musical climate, rarely do we come across an artist who is a brazen symbol of independence. Singer, songwriter, and hip-hop artist, Jawny BadLuck, is that rarity. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and currently residing in San Diego, California, Jawny has worked alongside some of the hottest independent and up-and-coming producers, and incessantly writes, records, and masters his own original music.

Coming from a long line of creators including vocalists and percussionists, Jawny started out as a drummer, focusing mainly on an eclectic mix of rock, soul, and punk. It wasn’t until early adolescence that his admiration for hip-hop began to grow. Inspired by the authenticity and rawness of the stories being told, Jawny felt an immediate connection with hip-hop culture, particularly with artists such as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Tupac, and The Notorious B.I.G.

As early as high school, Jawny knew he loved performing for an audience. He began writing original raps while simultaneously cultivating his creative control, swift rhyming, and captivating flow. When he was 18, Jawny attended the highly esteemed Full Sail’s Recording Arts and Sciences program where he received his Bachelor’s degree. Following his graduation, he began working as one of the head engineers at an Orlando recording studio.

Ultimately, it’s Jawny’s work ethic and business savvy that have afforded him the opportunity to become the authentic, independent artist he is now. His EP entitled Count Your Lucky Stars debuted in May of 2018 with the first single, “Life In Starlight,” quickly finding success. To keep this momentum going, Jawny released “Last Cigarette” later that year, accompanied by a full-length music video. The single received rave reviews and gained over 100,000 streams on both Spotify and Apple Music. His newest single “Southwest Fiesta ft. Jandro” was released 2020 with a music video that gained over 1 MILLION views on YouTube.

Today, Jawny finds himself in the studio daily and traveling regularly for collaboration & inspiration. Be sure to follow the next moves of this creative artist and rising star. It’s only the beginning.
